Primary Job Function:

 

This position is responsible for developing and implementing quality standards, policies, programs and activities.  This position is also responsible for all issues and activities relating to quality for manufactured and sourced components and springs to include continuous improvement initiatives.  The incumbent supervises and directs supervisors and employees in the area of Quality Management Systems and Inspection. 

 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

    • Ensures that company policies, operations, and procedures meet customer, company, and industry quality requirements

    • Ensures that company quality system is followed as defined with the quality manual

    • Establishes and directs quality control procedures to ensure raw material and finished product conformance with product quality specifications

    • Establishes, supervises, and monitors in-process inspection procedures in conjunction with manufacturing

    • Reports quality performance of operations and product reliability

    • Participates in development of processes and precut design to ensure internal quality planning

    • Maintains inspection and control procedures to meet quality standards and minimize costs

    • Directs programs to ensure compliance with customers and industry quality assurance requirements

    • Responsible for issuing, revising and approving the quality manual

    • Acts as liaison with customers and/or suppliers at the request of Sale or Purchasing to resolve quality problems for approved suppliers

    • Supervises activities of direct reports establishing standards and monitoring performance.  Conducts regular performance reviews and establishes individual development plans

    • Resolves internal and external quality concerns

  • Develops  in-country source inspection program


 

Position Requirements:

 

    • Four-year college degree or technical training and five to ten years of hands on experience in a similar position or discipline.  Concentration in Engineering or Quality Assurance preferred

    • Minimum five years’ experience in a related field.  Experience with ISO and/or AAR preferred

    • Demonstrated ability of increasing responsibly in the area of Quality Assurance

    • Strong knowledge of quality systems, supply chain quality, statistical methods and strategic planning and execution

    • Dynamic people skills, motivational/team building skills 

    • Strong presentation skills with experience in executing plans by selling, convincing and working through people at all levels of the company
