B.S., Pittsburg State - November 2018

I wanted to thank you ad everyone else involved with putting together a great conference this past week (CIC) in Chicago. This was a great experience for me, and I know it wouldn't have been possible without a lot of hard work.

P.B., Pittsburg State - March 2018

I was honored to receive a Foundry Educational Scholarship. This will help pay my tuition and books for the 2018 spring semester. Thank you for your generosity.

I have taken an interest in metal casting and other manufacturing methods, this is due to my farm/industrial background. I plan to leave my small home town of Argonia Kansas in the spring of 2020 in search of a job in the metal casting industry. Being able to manufacture parts necessary for agricultural needs is my current dream.

By awarding me this scholarship, you have relieved some of the financial burden I bear thus allowing me to concentrate on my studies vs seeking after-school-employment. Your contribution to me has inspired me to do the same, after graduation and full-time employment.

J.N., Pittsburg State - March 2018

I'd like to start this letter by saying "Thank you, you changed my life." You've contributed to my life style; my dreams of pursuing a career in the metalcasting industry. Being a son of immigrants from Mexico, and a first-generation college student, I've leanred to appreciate every blessing that comes into my life, whether it be emotionally, physically, or financially. Opportunities like these are the reason I am where I am in life, and for that I'll be forever grateful. I am currently located in Marshalltown, Iowa for an internship at Emerson. We focus on designing molds for valves, then we 3D print them on an ExOne S-Max. It has been a fantastic learning opportunity, words solely cannot express how excited I am for my future. Thank you again, not only have you invested in my education, but in the future of the industry that we both love.

T.M., Pittsburg State - February 2018

I am a senior in Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Pittsburg State University. I am graduating in May 2018 and have recently accepted a job within the metalcasting industry. The purpose of this letter is to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for awarding me with the Bill Sorensen Scholarship. As a student, this money will be useful to help pay for tuition and books for this semester. It is great to be a part of an industry who cares so much about recruiting young people to join this wonderful field. Being awarded scholarships like this one, has made me want to give back to future students just like you have for me.
