I am writing to thank you for your generous support in funding the 2017/18 Foundry Educational Foundation scholarships. I am currently pursuing my PhD in metallurgical engineering under Professor Bartlett after three years of working in a steel casting foundry as a quality engineer and a quality lab manager. I have just completed my first full year with MS&T and begun writing my first publication. This funding will be a big supplement to continuing my research into lightweight steel alloys, and I again wanted to express my gratitude.

Thank you for all the hard work you and everyone at FEF did to make CIC possible. It was very successful. I am very glad to be involved with such a great industry. I look forward to starting my career in the foundry industry, and in the future giving other FEF students the same opportunities I have been given. I was recently selected as the recipient of a 2017/18 FEF scholarship. As a gradstudent, this money is critical for purchasing materials relevant to my class work and research. I am beyond words and absolutely humbled bby the generosity of the FEF staff and its contributors. The time and money all of you put into this program is making a difference in the lives of young, aspiring metallurgists. Thank you so much for awarding me this scholarship. I am very honored to receive this award. FEF has been the most helpful foundation I have found during my time as a student. FEF and the foundry industry are so welcoming and helpful that they set themselves apart from other industries I have been a part of. I am looking forward to the CIC and starting my career in the foundry industry. I hope to one day give back to FEF to help future students take the same interest I have in this wonderful industry.
