AFS Young Professionals is an American Foundry Society (AFS) program for foundry industry professionals who are 20 to 45 years old and who are on, or aspire to be on, a leadership track in their careers.
Sinto America, Inc. is the North American group holding company, of Sintokogio, Ltd., Japan. The Sinto group of companies has an international reputation for excellence in the foundry, manufacturing and surface treatment industry.
The $4,000 scholarship is open to any student interested in the metalcasting industry currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university.
NOT eligible for this scholarship:
Students graduating in the 2024 calendar year
Students that have already received a 4-year degree and are employed full-time

Student must provide one letter of recommendation (professor, professional colleague, church leader, etc.) that will speak to leadership, integrity, and/or metalcasting activities of the student. Only one recommendation will be considered. Please attach to the application form below.
Using the application form below, student must submit a 250-500 word career objective statement on cast metals. Explain your interest and strengths in cast metals, examples of your leadership skills, the importance of the scholarship to you, and your work experience. You can cut & paste in the text box below.

The 2024 Sinto – AFS Young Professionals will be awarded at the AFS Young Professionals of Metalcasting event at the Puttery in Charlotte, NC on October 29, 2024.
The scholarship recipient will be notified prior to the event. Registration, hotel and travel expenses will covered by AFS and FEF, so the selected student may attend.

You must have a complete and updated FEF Student profile (registered with FEF).
