FEF's screening of award candidates for final selection by the Selection Committee of the AFS Hawkeye Chapter will be based on criteria. Within each category, the criteria is listed in descending order.

YOU MUST HAVE A COMPLETE AND UPDATED FEF STUDENT PROFILE

Residency:

1. Iowa
2. Wisconsin
3. Surrounding states

Education:

1. Attending an FEF College/University
2.  Attending an Iowa College or University
3. Attending a surrounding State FEF College/University
4. Attending a surrounding state College or University

Class:

1. First, second or third year student
2. Senior
3. Grad student

Preferences will be given to the following:

1. Essay
2. Students with internship/co-op experience with foundries/foundry suppliers in the AFS Hawkeye Chapter region
3. Students who are in foundry-related courses with schools affiliated with an AFS Hawkeye Chapter member
4. In the event of a tie, GPA will be taken into consideration.

Deadline:

1. Before May 1, 2026
2. (deadlines are subject to change from year to year)
